Spain share the spoils with Brazil

The European champions opened their Egypt 2021 campaign with a draw against Brazil, leading the first period but couldn't keep it up in the second period, with the final score of 29:29 at the Borg Al Arab Sports Hall in Alexandria.

The first period ended with a score of 16:13 to Spain, whose resolve was tested as both teams strived to dominate from the off.

It was Brazil who went out in search of parity and could have turned the tables, but the two sides couldn't make any periods of dominance count in a conclusive manner. Spain could have taken the lead in the dying embers of the match with a 7m shot that was ultimately saved by the opposition keeper.

Spain's left-back Haniel Langaro took home the man of the match accolade.

The next match sees Spain take on Poland on Sunday, while Brazil take on African runners up Tunisia earlier that day.
