Madbouly: Egypt accepted the challenge despite the pandemic

Egypt's Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouly has thanked Egypt's President H.E. Abdel Fattah El Sisi for giving the green light to host the 27th edition of the IHF Men's Handball World Championship despite the challenges and sufferings facing the entire world.

"I am happy with hosting this big event in Egypt as it's the first time it is being played with 32 national teams," Madbouly said during his speech ahead of the Draw proceedings.

"Egypt face a big challenge in hosting such a championship because of the Coronavirus pandemic but we accepted the challenge," The Egyptian Prime Minister said.

"Organising such an international- level event is a great achievement. Through the World Championship, Egypt, will be sending a message of peace to the entire world, as sports has always played an instrumental role in gathering people snd bringing them together."

"This tournament is a collective effort among all Egyptian institutions and organisations and I hope the event will be as worthy as Egypt's name and reputation,"

"I welcome all participants and visitors who will be participating and attending the main event in January, the tournament," Egypt's PM Mostafa Madbouly concluded.

 

The Draw of the 27th edition of the Handball World Championship, Egypt 2021 took place at the Giza Pyramids Plateau on Saturday 5 September.

Egypt will host the global handball showpiece tournament from 13 to 31 January 2021 at four different venues in Cairo and Alexandria.
