Spain stun Norway, face Denmark in Egypt 2021 semifinals
Spain booked their place in the semifinals of the 27th IHF Men’s Handball World Championship - Egypt 2021, after beating Norway 31:26 in the quarterfinals at New Capital Sports Hall on Wednesday.
The two-time World Champions, Spain snatched the upper hand of the game against Norway, finishing the first period with 21:15 lead.
In the second period, Spain continued dominating the game against Norway as well as finishing it with a 31:26 victory to march on in the World Championship.
Spanish goalkeeper Rodrigo Corrales claimed the ‘Player of the Match Award’ after a superb performance during the game.
The La Roja Furia, who made 21 appearances in the prestigious tournament, will a tough mission when they face Denmark in the semifinal at Cairo Stadium Sports Hall on Friday.
Norway will be ranked between fifth and eighth, after losing to Spain in the quarterfinals.
