Denmark's Jacobsen: Happy to progress, it was an equal match
Denmark coach Nicolaj Jacobsen felt extremely happy as his side progressed to the semi-final at Egypt's expense, after four extra periods were needed to separate the two sides yet still needing a penalty throw out that ended 4:3 to the Danes, with a final score of 39:38.
"I am extremely happy with our qualification to the semifinal stage after such a difficult game," said Jacobsen.
"The game was equal between the two sides throughout, and needed a penalty throw out. We made one stupid mistake that cost us the win, but so did Egypt.
"I don't think an extra 20 minutes today will affect us physically. We played the early quarterfinal match so I believe we'll be in good physical condition come the semi-final match."
Denmark's Magnus Jensen agreed.
"Egypt played well throughout the match and made things difficult for us," said Jensen.
"We needed four extra periods which made things more difficult, but we are happy with how things panned out. We are now fully focused on the semi-final and defending our title."
