France beat Hungary to secure a semifinal berth

The French earned another berth in the semifinals of the 27th IHF Men's Handball World Championship, which is currently being held in Egypt after a 35:32 victory over Hungary.

The first period saw the Hungarians dominating and leading 14:12 at half time.

But it all changed in the second period which got more thrilling as the French fought hard and managed to equalise and then lead just ten minutes into the second period, which concluded 30:30, where both teams settled for an overtime, which was so tough, but the French ended 35:32 to make it to the semi-finals.

Despite his team's loss, Hungary’s Pivot Bence Bánhidi was named Player of the Match for scoring six goals.

France are to face Sweden in the semifinal. The Swedes beat Qatar 35:23.

The semi-final game will take place on Friday at the Cairo Stadium Indoor Hall.
