Tunisia turn tables on Austria in President’s Cup final, snatch 25th place

Tunisia defeated Austria 37:33 in the final game of President’s Cup in the 27th IHF Men’s Handball World Championship - Egypt 2021, at New Capital Sports Hall, Cairo on Wednesday.
The two teams Tunisia and Austria failed to reach the main round of the World Championship after finishing in the bottom of their groups in the preliminary round.
They directly qualified for the President’s Cup in a step to achieve advanced places in championship ranking, hereby Tunisia claimed the 25th place while Austria finished in the 26th position.
Tunisia snatched the upper hand of the game against Austria in the first period with a narrow 19:16 lead.
In the second period, the Eagles of Carthage dominated the game, finishing it with 37:33 victory to snatch the 25th place.
Tunisian left back Mosbah Sanai claimed the ‘Player of the Match Award’ after a superb performance during the game, scoring 8 goals.
Tunisia started their mission in the preliminary round Group B of Egypt 2021 with 30:28 loss to Poland then they drew 32:32 with Brazil before losing 36:30 to Spain to finish it in the bottom of the group’s ranking with only one point.
Austria also opened Egypt 2021 campaign with 28:25 loss to Switzerland then they lost to again to France 35:28 before finishing their mission with 38:29 loss to Norway.
