Chile beat DR Congo, snatch 27th place in Egypt 2021

Chile defeated DR Congo 35:30 in their final appearance in the 27th IHF Men’s Handball World Championship - Egypt 2021, to snatch the 27th place in the tournament’s ranking.

Chile dominated the first period of the game against DR Congo, claiming 18:13 lead at New Capital Sports Hall, Cairo.

In the second period, DR Congo players did their best to make a comeback, but their efforts were denied by Chile players who managed to finish the game with a 35:30 victory over the African team.

DR Congo’s right back Adam Ngando claimed the ‘Player of the Match Award’ after a superb performance during the game, scoring 8 goals.

The two teams Chile and DR Congo failed to make to the main round of the World Championship as they placed in the bottom of their groups in the preliminary round with no points.

They directly qualified for the President’s Cup in a step to achieve advanced places in championship ranking, hereby Chile claimed the 27th place while DR. Congo claimed the 28th position.

Worth mentioning, Republic of Korea snatched the 31st place in the championship ranking after their opponents Cape Verde withdrew from the tournament to be in the 32nd place.
