Road to Egypt 2021: Austria reached the 27th Men’s Handball World Championship after the cancellation of European qualifiers, as they came eighth in the EHF Euro 2020.

History: Austria appeared six times in the World Championship, with the best-ever finish coming all the way back in 1938, when they came second.
