Sobhy: Our Volunteers will be in the front lines

Egypt's Youth & Sports Minister Dr Ashraf Sobhy revealed that the volunteers who will take part in the 27th IHF Men's Handball World Championship- Egypt 2021, will carry a huge responsibility during the tournament.

" Egypt's volunteers will be in the front lines and will make the first impression to all participating teams and their delegations and to the entire world who will be following the event." The Minister said.

Sobhy confirmed that the Head of State, President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi is so much interested in this major event which makes him deeply involved in all details by following up on the current progress of the final preparations process. The Minister added that President Al Sisi has given instructions towards providing all necessary facilities needed for the success of the event.

More than 6000 young men and women have applied to serve as volunteers in the two-week event. The applicants have been interviewed for the past two weeks at the Olympic Center in Maadi, amid medical precautionary measures.

The applicants were interviewed by a commission of experienced and professional professors in the volunteering sector from the Ministry of Youth & Sports including; Nagwa Saleh, Head of the Central Culture & Volunteering Programs Department, Dr Sherif Abu El Enin, Head of the Volunteers Commission and members of the commission; Islam Abdel-Aziz, Mohamed Megahed, Abdallah Al Batsh, Asmaa Ismail and Moustafa Magdi.

The interviews for the applicants from Alexandria will be held on 18 and 19 September in Alexandria.
